Pickleball has been added at Wintergreen Resort at their Devils Knobs tennis facility on the mountain.
According to Kostyantyn Khodirev, Wintergreen's Director of Tennis, everyone is invited to join the fun Mondays through Thursdays, 12:30-2 pm for groups of four; no resort membership is needed.
There is no formal instruction (yet), it's open play pickleball only. The cost on each session $5 per person, but four are needed to participate.
The resort will help you set up a game. Here's how: Email tennis@wintergreenresort.com and list the days you can play. (If you have others coming with you, include their names in the email and also copy them on the email.) The staff will work to put together a pickleball session that works for you with four players and back to you. Questions? Call at 434-325-8345.
The property owner’s association at Wintergreen has one racketball court in the valley that is used for both pickleball and tennis. Learn more
What is pickleball?
Pickleball is a paddle sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Two or four players use solid paddles made of wood or composite materials to hit a perforated polymer ball, similar to a Wiffle Ball, over a net. Wikipedia
