The surface treating WPOA's walking paths began on July 7th, turning what was the gravel path that runs along Monocan Drive (connecting the Farmers Market area to the intersection of Stoney Creek East and West) into a smoother, more attractive surface that will be easier to maintain.

Passing of Russell Otis
Russell Otis, long time Executive Director of WPOA, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday. Russell was an ardent supporter of the Wintergreen Community and served as the first Executive Director of WPOA from 1989 until 2016. Many in the community will remember Russell for his sharp wit, his honesty, and his active participation in the success of both Wintergreen and Nelson County.

Christmas Tree Pickup Now Available
After the holidays WPOA will pick up old Christmas trees from the curb at no cost. Property owners should call 434-325-8528 when their tree is on the curb, making certain parking spots on the street are not blocked and ditches can easily drain. Expect to see the tree removed from the curb within two to four days.

Dunlop Public Safety Plaza at Tuckahoe Clubhouse
The plaza honors those in the Wintergreen community who have earned the designation of “life member” of either Wintergreen Rescue or Wintergreen Fire. Additionally, honored in the plaza are employees of Wintergreen Police and Wintergreen Fire & Rescue who have dedicated over ten years of their career to Wintergreen.
Every home should have a Knox Box
Wintergreen Fire Department sells and installs Knox Box key boxes for both residential and commercial properties at Wintergreen. With a Knox Box installed the Fire Department can gain access to the property without having to cause damage through forcible entry. Once installed, keys and alarm codes to the property are placed inside the UL-tested secure enclosure, with only Wintergreen Fire Department having access to the keys. Learn more here
